We Believe the Bible
…in its entirety to be the inspired Word of God and the inerrant, final authority for faith and conduct.

We Believe In One God
…God the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit and that these three are equal in deity, power and glory.

Statement of Faith

We Believe Jesus Christ Is the Son of God
…Who became human and was born of a virgin, being fully God and fully man, lived a sinless life and offered Himself as a sacrifice for sin.

We Believe In Man’s Fall & Redemption
…That man was made in the likeness of God, but through Adam, sin came into the world. Jesus gave His life and shed His blood to redeem mankind.

We Believe In the New Birth
…and that the new birth is necessary to all men and, when experienced, produces eternal life. This salvation is by grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone.

We Believe In Water Baptism and Communion
…both are direct commands of our Lord to be observed until the time of Christ’s return. They are not a means of salvation but are channels of God’s sanctifying grace and blessing.

We Believe In Eternal Life
…When a Christian dies he/she passes immediately into the presence of Christ, there to enjoy eternal fellowship with the Savior. When the unbeliever dies he/she shall be punished with eternal separation from the presence of God.

We Believe In the Return of Jesus To the Earth
…as King of Kings and Lord of Lords to personally and visibly complete His kingdom. We also believe in and are praying for a great end-time harvest of souls and the emergence of a victorious people that will experience unprecedented unity, purity and power in the Holy Spirit.

In today’s culture,
there are a variety of social issues that are subject to broad biblical interpretation. These issues tend to be divisive so at Salem Christian Union we attempt to combine our core values and our Statement of Beliefs in dealing with such matters. We can agree to disagree on the non-essentials, beliefs not pertaining to salvation, and still worship and serve God together. We also believe in the sanctity of life for the unborn, and that the Bible defines marriage as one man and one woman.
