The work of the church is not contained to what happens inside the church building.   God commanded His disciples to go out into the world and bring others to Him.   Salem Christian Union Church has a heart for missions-at home and abroad.  Listed below is the current list of missions projects that Salem supports:

  • Compassion Child: Salem supports two children through the Compassion  organization with monthly donations to assist these children in going to school and learning about God’s word.
  • Samaritan’s Purse: Each Salem members pack and donate Christmas Child boxes which are delivered all over the world by through the Operation Christmas Child ministry of  Samaritan’s Purse.
  • Teen Missions: Salem sends financial support to Pat Storey, a Christian Union missionary with Teen Missions International.
  • Good Samaritan Center in Excelsior Springs, MO: Salem supports the Good Samaritan Center with monthly financial donations and periodic food drives for the GSC food pantry.
  • Ed and Rae Ann Montague-missionaries through Christian Union in Mission, Texas.
  • Pauline Sonius-missionary through Christian Union in Rock Hill, SC.
  • Marissa (Sharp) Scherb:  Marissa works with Child Evangelism Fellowship in city of Des Moines, Iowa-bringing the gospel message to children in the inner city through 5 day clubs and various children’s functions.  Salem’s youth Sunday School class sends financial support for Marissa’s ministry
